Small Ways to Wealth

For the last 5 years I have been able to learn through the experience of many skilled and patient investors.  They have invested in real estate, businesses, and people as well as in themselves.  The latter being the most impressive to watch, the teacher always seems to learn more than the student.

One of the things that I have heard the most being in the consulting industry has been the cost for most of the investment methods.   Some methods and strategies are going to have a higher cost that is just how it is.   Not all investments require tens of thousands of dollars.

I am proposing a contest that will be a personal challenge, you’re not competing against anyone directly.  You’re competing against your own self-doubt.  Worthy opponent it is, but beatable certainly.

The limits that I am self imposing will be $25, $50, $75, $100, $250, $500, &750, $1000, $1500 and $2000.  The goals are to be accomplished and serve as a measuring stick will be threefold.

  • Doubling the money that you can use for investing in 90 days.
  • Using documented time tracking to show 15-20 hours per week of time.
  • To show a reproducible system for anyone with basic computer knowledge and reliable internet access, to create income from small level investments.

To be able to track this information, we will have a spot were an excel spreadsheet is uploaded showing the amount your started with and were the money has gone.   This will track the costs, the returns, and the end result in 90 days.

Here is an example:

Your initial Investment, Purchase and cost, Returns, Current balance – Below initial, Above initial

Starting Investment Costs Returns Current Balance
$100 Purchase ($35) $65
Sold $55 $120
Purchase ($75) $45

This will be a “Police yourself “ type program, seeing what you can do.  Recording what you are doing by documentation can be done in multiple ways.  There are multiple ways to do this, documents, videos, screen captures.  Some of the tools that can be used are.

  • Screenr.com –This is a free service that will allow you to capture a sub 5 Minute video of the site you are looking at on your computer screen.
  • Techsmith.com– This has multiple levels of recording services, from low-cost to higher end.
  • Camstudio.org– this is a site for another free software
  • Taking screen shots through your system can work as documentation as well.

The main point is to show what you have been able to do with your initial investment in the 90 days.

I am getting the details worked out for were we can upload and track the information.  Here is what we want to be able to accomplish:

  • Central file location that will be viewed by registered members.
  • Easy access to check on progress.
  • Central document to share ideas, challenges, success and failures.

Stay tuned for the dates of when the challenge will start………
